Annysa Ng
Annysa Ng’s striking images in black and white look at ideas of her cultural heritage and identity. She was born in Hong Kong and currently resides in New York so her works explicitly portray the influences of the history of the East and the West. As well as ideas of colonialism with the mix of the Asian and European dress, there is the loss of identity of the individuals with their blacked out faces. As an Asian woman there are also underlying ideas of womens role and position in male dominated societies.
