Maiofis’ photographs are always linked to the history of Russia, even if this is just reflected in the mood of the photographs, his upbringing in St. Petersburg, in an artistic family can always be spotted.    He does however, make the most of the newest techniques which he discovered in LA.    Spending his time between the two very different cultures, his works are a discussion on what forms the society to which we belong.
